Glasgow's Lorraine Kelly responds to Twitter troll as fans defend 'rude' comment

Lorraine Kelly has responded to a troll who tweeted about her appearance during one of her latest morning television shows.

The Glasgow TV host was introducing an interview with Ranvir Singh and singer Adam Lambert when one Twitter shared their thoughts on the show.

And in response, one rude viewer tagged the TV presented when replying: "I really think Lorraine needs a makeover. Hair is awful I’m surprised no one has mentioned this. Time for a short cut Lorraine."

Fans were quick to take to her defence with many calling the troll out for their nasty comment. Lorraine also responded to the troll quote tweeting: "Well good morning Cathy - only problem - when I have short hair I look like Wilson from “Castaway “ (if you know you know)."

The 63-year-old was referring to the iconic ball with a red face-like shape printed on it from the American survival drama film.

Rushing to defend the Glaswegian host, one said: "How rude are some people! Lorraine, I think you look beautiful just the way you are xx."

Another tweeted: "I think you look great x."

"Omg Cathy you must be really unhappy in your life to just be rude and mean for no reason what so ever!!!!" said a third.

It comes as the host had to be sent home after coming down with a mysterious illness. Ranvir Singh was forced to step in and host last minute as Lorraine headed home to recover.

The Glasgow-born host made her return at the start of this week telling views that she is better now: "It was just a bug. Usually, I can bat them away but this time it just. It was a cracker! It just got me but I'm all good now.
