Glasgow Kingston Bridge incident: Man struck by van on West Street near M8 eastbound

An ongoing police incident has restricted access to the Kingston Bridge this morning.

Police were informed of a man being struck by a van on the M8 slip road just after 10am on Thursday.

Police, ambulances and an incident support vehicle have been called to the scene at the junction of West Street and Cook Street.

Traffic Scotland said: "Due to an ongoing Police Incident on the M8 Junction 20 on slip to M8 eastbound Kingston Bridge from West Street, the junction of West Street /Cook Street / M8 onslip will be subject to restriction until further notice.

"The onslip at this time is closed to all vehicles. Emergency Services are in attendance and road users should follow Police direction.

"Further Bulletins will be issued as more information becomes available."

A Police Scotland spokesperson told Glasgow Live: "A road traffic crash on the M8 slip road at Kingston bridge eastbound was reported to us just after 10AM. A man has been struck by a van.

"Emergency services remain on scene."
