Glasgow's Kelvingrove Bandstand to host Ed Byrne and Milton Jones at new comedy festival this summer

Some of the UK's top comedians will perform at one of Glasgow's most iconic venues this summer at the first ever Up Festival.

Promising a 'night of unforgettable entertainment in the open air', the historic Kelvingrove Bandstand will play host to the likes of Ed Byrne and Milton Jones as well as local comedy talent.

Organisers announced the new festival today and said: "Join an exceptional line up of top tier talent, led by panel show king, writer, actor (and all-star Family Fortunes winner!) Ed Byrne alongside the inimitable Milton Jones, Bathgate-bred superstar Fern Brady and Glasgow's own Larry Dean".

Familiar Stand Comedy Club performer and compère Ray Bradshaw is also included on the lineup.

The following month, The Summer Nights at the Bandstand festival returns to Kelvingrove Park for a seventh year with 13 nights of live music from Van Morrison, The Waterboys, Pixies and many more.

The first ever Up Festival will take place on Sunday June 26 at 6pm, with tickets starting at £39.97.
