Glasgow's 'first picnic delivery service' coming to Queen's Park this weekend

Southsiders are set to enjoy Glasgow's 'first picnic delivery service' this weekend, with a popular local restaurant bringing the likes of meats, cheeses and fruits to Queen's Park.

On Saturday, June 11, park-goers will find a scannable QR code at the gates to the park, enabling people to place their order, which can be picked up at a designated meeting point on Victoria Road.

Olive Boardz, the grazing restaurant based at nearby Kilmarnock Road, is producing three different types of picnic boxes, filled with the likes of George Mewes cheese, charcuterie meats, humous, chutneys and fruits, while there will also be options for vegetarians and vegans.

Their team have just announced: "Located at the entrances to the park you will find posters with a scannable QR code and a message to advise you how to order. Simply scan the barcode, Place the order, and then wait for your notification to let you know we are on the way. We have a meeting point on Victoria Road where you will collect the delivery from.

"People are looking for more convenient ways to dine and we believe this will be very popular with the locals over the summer."

Olive Boardz owner Matt commented: "We are buzzing for this launch and truly believe it will be a big hit in Shawlands. It’s just what is missing. "Imagine sitting back on the park while we deliver a beautiful picnic directly to you."

Picnic pre-orders are already available via the Olive Boardz website which you can visit here.
