Glasgow's Duke of Wellington statue gets festive makeover with Christmas tree cone hat

Glasgow's iconic Duke of Wellington has been treated to a few makeovers over the years.

From the gold cone for the Commonwealth Games and Lewis Capaldi cone to promote his debut album to the Adidas cone to promote an exhibition of new works by local artist Ross Muir, he's partial to changing up his look every once and a while.

And now to bring a bit of extra festive cheer to Glasgow, the bold yin is now sporting a Christmas tree cone hat - complete with Christmas lights - on his perch outside the GoMA in Royal Exchange Square.

The new hat was spotted by Cloch Solicitors, who tweeted a photo of it along with the caption: "A Glasgow Christmas, if we ever saw one."

Another person who spotted the new festive appearance for the Duke also shared some pics of the statue on Twitter, along with the caption: "The Duke of Wellington statue, outside the GoMA in Glasgow, overnight upgrade."

We think it looks great to be fair! A welcome change from his usual bog-standard traffic cone.
