THE Clyde Tunnel in Glasgow has been closed due to an ongoing police incident.
The tunnel has reportedly been closed to traffic in both directions, as drivers are being encouraged to use an alternative route.
Emergency services are at the scene, but the nature of the incident is not yet known.
There is currently no diversion in place, but motorists have been asked to follow police officers' directions.
Traffic Scotland confirmed that the exit slip roads from the M8 junctions 19 and 25 Eastbound are currently closed.
A traffic bulletin read: “Due to an ongoing Police Incident, the Clyde Tunnel is currently closed in both directions.
“Emergency services are in attendance.
“Drivers are advised to seek an alternative route.”
Police Scotland said: “The Clyde Tunnel is closed in both directions due to an ongoing incident that was reported around 2.45pm on Saturday, 26 July, 2025. Motorists should avoid the area if possible.”
