Glasgow's chilli champion set to be crowned at cook off this weekend

Glasgow's chilli champion is set to be crowned as the city's best chilli chefs go head-to-head in a cook off this weekend.

Taking place at Francos, on Queen Margaret Drive in Kelvinside, the charity event is set to raise hundreds of pounds for a very worthy cause. That's because the team there are supporting the Scottish Association of Mental Health (SAMH), with those wanting to sample a variety of chillis encouraged to donate to the charity.

Kicking off at 6pm on Sunday, £5 will get you two portions of chilli, while a series of talented Glasgow bands will provide the musical backdrop.

Organisers of the event say: "We are having our own party ... a SAMH Chilli Charity Cook Off at Francos!

"And we are delighted to have Flew The Arrow, Grayling, Flying Penguins and Old Bohemia will be filling your years as you fill your bellies!

"The fun starts at 6pm, £5 gets you two portions of our contenders chilli with tiny tasters free for everyone. Good food, good drinks, good music and v good company!

"If you make a chilli and think you've got what it takes to be the 2019 chilli champion, you can enter by emailing charitychilliglasgow@gmail.com.

"Come along, have fun - TRNSMT?... What? Sorry, I've no idea what you are taking about ..."
