Glasgow’s biggest charity fashion show is coming to SWG3 next month.
Hosts Glasgow University Charity Fashion Show (GUCFS) are gearing up for their biggest show to date, with the student fundraiser spanning two nights on February 21 and 22.
The entirely student-run organisation have raised over £85,000 in the past 6 years for different charities, with 2019 seeing a record-breaking £34,130 donation to Simon Community Scotland.
This year, GUCFS have chosen Glasgow Women’s Aid as their charitable partner.
With one in four women experiencing domestic abuse in their lifetime, this local charity works to support women, children and young people affected in Glasgow.
GUCFS’ sixth show, INBLOOM, celebrates beauty in the under-represented and unconventional.
Beth O’Shea, president of the student-led organisation said: “The show this year is about allowing those who feel ostracised and excluded to draw upon their inner strength and resilience in the face of adversity.
"Domestic abuse is a taboo subject, and those who experience it can feel isolated. Glasgow Women’s Aid allow for a safe space and offer non-judgmental services for those suffering from domestic abuse.
"GUCFS is proud to be raising funds and awareness for such an amazing cause".
