Glasgow's 'biggest beer garden' to be transformed into Winter Wonderland with ski gondola and cosy igloos

Glasgow's biggest beer garden is set to be transformed into a Winter Wonderland this festive season.

Cranside Kitchen will become Glasgow’s 'biggest Winter Village' from November 25, with organisers hoping it will offer an alternative for those missing out on the city's Christmas Market this year.

Running until January 2, Cranside Winter Village will feature winter snugs, cosy igloos, a ski gondola and festive cocktails alongside its usual offering of delicious dishes from top resident restaurants.

Throughout the festive season the Cranside Winter Village Stage will host a variety of live entertainment with their resident DJs playing disco and club classics every weekend as well as Christmas drag brunch events.

Festive garlands and foliage, fairy lights, mini Christmas trees and of course heater stands to keep that Glasgow Winter chill at bay, while there will also be a giant Christmas tree to create and capture the most magical ‘instagrammable moment’ with your loved ones.

The usual line up of seven top Glasgow restaurants including Romanos, Halloumi, Kilmurry & Co and XI'AN will be on offer on the Cranside app alongside two new festive inspired food market stalls offering hot drinks, hot dogs and hot doughnuts.

Cranside Winter Village will open from 12pm until 11pm daily from Thursday 25th November 2021 until Sunday 2nd January 2022, with more information available here.

Featuring a variety of snug indoor and outdoor seating areas, guests will be able to enjoy festive favourites like traditional mulled wines and ciders, Winter cocktails and boozy hot chocolate.

As part of the fun, the private Kopparberg Cable Car Cabin will seat up to four people and has been customised with fresh upholstery and subtle lighting for warmth and comfort - and hot cider on tap.

Those looking for something a little more snug can enjoy their own private igloos, while the Hygge Lounge offers an enclosed space and a cosy atmosphere, fully undercover for a sheltered night out with heaters and blankets to keep you warm - meaning the typical Scottish weather won't stop you from enjoying a great Christmas night out.
