Glasgow's Albert Bridge closed to traffic amid ongoing police incident

Albert Bridge over the River Clyde in Glasgow city centre has been closed to traffic amid an ongoing police incident.

Glasgow City Council's traffic management department (TRAFFCOM) issued a bulletin this evening confirming the closure around 7:15pm this evening.

The bulletin reads: "Due to an ongoing police incident the Albert Bridge is closed in both directions until further notice."

Drivers and pedestrians intending to use the bridge - that links the Saltmarket in the city centre with Crown Street on the city’s south side - are advised to follow police direction.

UPDATE - Albert Bridge is now fully open.
