Glasgow Road closed after pedestrian hit by car outside Uddingston hotel

A road in Uddingston has been closed after a pedestrian was knocked down by a car.

Emergency services rushed to Glasgow Road after they received reports of a person being struck by a vehicle at around 11am today.

Police and ambulance crews remain on the scene just outside the Redstones Hotel.

The condition of the individual hit by the vehicle is currently unknown.

A Police Scotland spokesperson: “Officers are currently in attendance following a road traffic crash which happened on the B7071 Glasgow Road at Belmont Avenue, Uddingston, at around 11am on Wednesday, 17 May, 2023.

“The crash involved a pedestrian and a car.

“Emergency services remain at the scene and the road is currently closed.”
