Glasgow riverfront set for new 'lifestyle brand' seventeen storey hotel

Glasgow's riverfront is set for a new 'lifestyle brand' hotel.

Australian brand Tribe, recently launched by Accor, will occupy the seventeen storey building at 236-246 Clyde Street, which is nearing completion.

The hotel, which will have 290 guest rooms, could be open to guests as soon as this autumn and is said to be made for "modern travellers".

The space, which is in a prime city centre position overlooking the River Clyde, will include a bar, cafe and restaurant, as well as a gym, co-working space and meeting rooms.

And a number of luxury items may be housed within the hotel, including "an artistic collection of artfully designed objects, giving the perception of an upscale space, complement the hotel’s modern style. Highlights include Moroso chairs, an array of Jean-Paul Gaultier cushions, lamps provided by the renowned British designer Tom Dixon, and more."

As described on the Tribe Hotels website: "Good hotels are too expensive and plagued by out-dated services and hidden extras. We established Tribe to create an accessible luxury alternative. Contemporary, design-driven accommodation (without the clichéd extras) in progressive, central locations that won’t leave your wallet bare.

"Modern travellers. We made this hotel for you."
