A popular Glasgow restaurant is the running to be crowned the Best in Scotland at this year's Golden Chopsticks Awards.

Co-founded by TV personality Gok Wan, the prestigious awards 'celebrate the enormous contribution of East and South East Asian cuisine to the UK catering industry and champion those who work within it.'

One of Glasgow’s best places for sushi, the West George Street eatery serves up modern Japanese cuisine alongside beautiful cocktails.

The owners say: "At Nippon Kitchen it is important that our customers get the best of us. The best of our food, our drinks and our service.

"It’s the finer details like these that we believe sets us apart, and makes your Nippon Kitchen experience the best it can be."

And joining the Glasgow city centre restaurant as a finalist in the category is East Kilbride's Oiishi, much-loved for its 'authentic, high quality Japanese cuisine', and Thai Kitchen Express at the St James Quarter in Edinburgh.
