Glasgow restaurant launches 'Scotland's first 24 Carat Gold menu'

An Italian restaurant in the city centre has launched Scotland's first 24 Carat Gold menu.

Sannio on Elmbank Street has unveiled its luxurious new offering – sweet treats and drinks topped with edible 24 carat gold.

Diners can enjoy gold-flecked coffees, desserts and cocktails from a Pornstar Martini to a Prosecco Lady and dishes such as Panna Cotta, Tiramisu and Chocolate Fudge Cake.

Needless to say, the options don't come cheap, starting from an eye-watering £24 a pop. You can check out the full menu here.

The gold leaf is sourced from a company used by a number of Britain's Michelin star restaurants – and it's vegan friendly, incase you're asking.

Bosses at Sannio said there is also a three-course set menu in the works and scheduled to launch this spring.
