Glasgow restaurant creates mouth-watering Colin the Caterpillar cannolo creation

A restaurant based in Glasgow has come up with a mouth-watering sweet treat and it's safe to say people are clearly obsessed.

The special was created by Nonna Said who are based at 26 Candleriggs in the city centre just by Merchant City.

Taking to Instagram, the official Colin the Caterpillar Instagram page re-posted a photo of what the eatery had uploaded in April of this year.

In their caption they wrote: "Colin the… Cannolo? Why not? It’s the perfect summer treat! Who’d want to try one?" and in response Nonna Said replied: "We took inspiration from the best."

The limited-edition dessert which was only available for a short period of time, is called a 'Colin the Caterpillar Cannolo', and is a staple of Sicilian cuisine. And for those who aren't too sure what it ism a cannoli is an Italian pastry formed of a tube-shaped shells of fried pastry dough that is then filled with a sweet, creamy filling such as vanilla, caramel or chocolate - just to name a few.

It's clear people would like to see the special return to the pizzeria and cocktail bar with commenters saying they wanted it to be a 'permanent feature' with one saying they were "obsessed".

Another tagged their friend adding: "Please make me this" whilst a third simply wrote: "OMG. Love this!."

Thankfully however one commented did ask the question most people were thinking: "But what's the difference between cannolo and cannoli?" to which they replied: "cannoli is plural and cannolo is single" - every day is a school day.
