Glasgow refugee charity take down 'Donald Trump is a jobby' sign after complaints

A Glasgow refugee charity have removed a sign in their shop window calling Donald Trump a "jobby".

Refuweegee say complaints from residents led them to take down the jibe displayed at their base on Byres Road in the West End.

But the charity, who welcome refugees to the city in "true Glaswegian style", aren't letting it stop them express their feelings about the American president, according to Glasgow Live .

They have now stuck it up on the one of the walls in their store and are inviting locals to come and take pictures with the sign.

One of the city's foremost jewellery designers, Bonnie Bling, took to social media to protest against the decision.

She Tweeted about the situation: "Refuweegee are being told they have to remove our ‘Trump Is A Jobby’ protest sign from their window due to ‘resident complaints.

"Byres Rd, I thought you were better than this!! #protest #freespeech #trump".

Refuweegee have since responded: "Who knew the west had so many Trump fans?! Or folks offended by the word jobby.

"We'll have the sign in the wall inside, come away in and get your photos with it in the warm!  #trumpisajobby   #fundraising ".

Refuweegee founder Selina Hales told  Glasgow Live : "We're baffled by the fact there's been a number of complaints! However, it's made for some excellent Twitter conversation about what we should replace the sign with!"

A number people made suggestions to Refuweegee about what they should replace the 'jobby' sign with.

@Rod_Paradise said: "Just sticker a new word over jobby every week, each change frustrates the previous complaints. May I suggest starting with Plampf. Could even take Twitter suggestions each week."

@markmakeslinks said: "Fannybaws next week, please!"
