Glasgow-based recruitment agency A1 Jobs has opened a London office and announced the appointment of senior recruitment specialist Martin Murphy to its central Scotland team.
He has proven recruitment experience as a director of Prime Staff for nine years but has more recently worked as a business development manager in construction-related companies.
Murphy, from Paisley, will focus on winning industrial sector clients for A1 Jobs in central Scotland.
Glasgow branch recruitment manager Pat Conroy said: “We are delighted to secure a proven business development manager with Martin Murphy’s sales track record and recruitment industry contacts to enhance our portfolio of existing Driving, Industrial, Removals, Hospitality, Engineering, Traffic Management, Commercial and IT sector capability.”
A1 Jobs changed ownership three months ago with new CEO Peter Currie taking control. He said: “Having been in the role for a short period of time to complement our excellent service capability, I have started making the required changes to focus on our IT capability,professionalise the sales side of the business, introduce flexible working and have shortened the recruiter working week.
"Starting from a turnover base of over £2 million, all staff are now focused on taking the next step forward in the company's progression which has already started with A1 Jobs having opened a new London office last week in addition to our established Birmingham branch”.
On Friday 15th November, Glasgow staff will take part in a Children In Need corporate fundraising day, contacting as many local businesses as possible to gain pledges for a worthy cause which two of their current recruiters have been helped by in the past.
