With markets, our jaw-dropping Style Mile parade, the Irn Bru Carnival and plenty of pantos, we're spoiled for choice at this time of year.
But unfortunately, it seems we've been muscled out by our neighbours when it comes to the best festive present-buying experience in the UK.
Edinburgh has been named the best city in the UK for Christmas shopping – with Scotland's biggest city coming in at second place.
Premier Inn created a unique algorithm which identifies the top locations in the UK – looking at factors such as the city's size, how busy it is, the number of shops, parking, the quality of its Christmas market and even the chance of snow.
Auld Reekie was crowned the winner, with the hotel firm praising its "cobbled streets, abundance of shops, huge Christmas market, striking architecture and high chance of snow". Its neighbour,
Glasgow came in at number two, confirming Scotland as the place to go for a festive shopping staycation.
"With the likes of Princes Square, Buchanan Street and the St. Enoch Shopping Centre, there’s a whole lot of shopping to be done, and this is again matched with festive cheer, manageable crowds and traffic, and a stellar Christmas market," they added.
The top ten also includes the Harry Potter-esque charms of Oxford, the festive warmth of Newcastle and parking-friendly Belfast.
We might be playing a festive second fiddle to the capital, but let's face it: We'd beat them when it comes to a show-stopping Christmas night out.
