Glasgow rail services disrupted after vehicle strikes bridge in Muirend

Rail services have been disrupted in Glasgow after a vehicle struck a railway bridge in Muirend in the south side of the city.

ScotRail have confirmed that services between Glasgow Central and Neilston will be cancelled, delayed or revised as a result of the incident.

The rail operator has dispatched engineers to the scene of the incident and are expected to arrive on-site shortly.

They tweeted: We've had reports that a vehicle has struck a bridge at Muirend The bridge is a red structure so it will need to be examined by engineers before we can run trains again.

Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.

UPDATE - Scotrail confirm that the bridge has been inspected and it's safe to run trains again.
