Glasgow rail disruption as police called to trespassers on line

Glasgow rail passengers are experiencing disruption tonight.

Trespassers between Airdrie and Coatdyke has led to a closure of the line.

Emergency services are on the scene and ScotRail bosses expect the railway line to be inaccessible until around 8.15pm.

A number of journeys are affected as a result.

ScotRail say: "Due to trespassers on the railway between Coatdyke and Airdrie all lines are closed.

"Officers have arrived on site and we await a further update.

"Disruption is expected until 20:15."

It's the second time today that scheduled journeys have been impacted by disruption,

Earlier this evening, passengers were causing a disturbance on a train at Singer, which is still causing slight delays on that line.
