Glasgow Queen Street burst water main causing delays for rail users

A burst water main is causing delays for rail users this evening.

The incident has disrupted all rail journeys from Glasgow Queen Street on the line towards Bellgrove.

It has also caused a signalling fault, holding one signal at red.

The Dundas Street entrance to the Low Level has been closed off due to the flooding and customers have been asked to use the Hanover Street entrance instead.

Scotrail are currently waiting for Scottish Water to provide an update and disruption is expected to continue until 10.30pm.

A statement from Scotrail reads: "We have a burst water main at Queen Street Low Level affecting our trains towards Bellgrove.

"We are waiting for an update from Scottish Water who are making their way to the station and once we have this we will let you know.

"The lift between platform 9 and the high level is currently out of order as are the Customer Information Screens at the Low Level. Customers should listen for announcements or speak to station staff for information.

|We have also had to close of the Dundas Street entrance to the Low Level and customers should therefore use the Hanover Street entrance."
