A Glasgow pub will be holding a fundraiser to help a Sunny Govan radio presenter in need of a double lung transplant.
Helen Ward presented the popular Helsbells Rock Show and Dolly Mixtures on the station until she was forced to give up due to being diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis - a condition that causes the lungs to become scarred and breathing to become difficult.
Helen, who is in her 50s, is in need of a double-lung transplant and will have to travel to Newcastle to undergo the procedure.
However, her loved ones face having to pay steep accommodation costs for the six to eight-week period of her hospitalisation when it eventually comes.
To help foot the bill, fellow Sunny Govan presenter Susan Sutton has launched a fundraiser with the hope of giving the family one less thing to worry about.
So far, £2,600 has been raised through an online fundraising page and now a fundraising event has been organised to smash the £3,000 goal.
The Old Toll Bar on Paisley Road West will be holding the event on October 2 and 3, also organised by Susan.
The fundraiser promises 'a great line up of DJ's, live music, ceilidh, traditional music, craft beers, cocktails and raffles' in all the name of a good cause. To find out more, visit the event page here.
