Glasgow project The Bridges Partnership to host event calling for end to violence against women

An event calling for the end to violence against women will be held a Glasgow community centre next week.

Glasgow project The Bridges Partnership, run by children’s charity Aberlour, will be hosting the free event on Monday (December 9) in support of the campaign 16 Days of Action.

The group will show their support for the campaign that seeks to end violence against women and girls by organising four-hours of discussion and activities at Ruchill Community Centre.

Organiser Emma McLean told Glasgow Live:  "Bridges Partnership with Aberlour supports women and children who have been affected by domestic abuse.

"We hope the event it’ll bring women together and help them to understand the warning signs of abusive relationships, as it can escalate so quickly, and also to highlight that perpetrators need to be held accountable for their actions."

The event takes place between 10am-2pm on Monday, December 9 at Ruchill Community Centre.

Lunch and drinks will be provided and children are welcome.
