Glasgow primary school targeted by vandals for second time this year

Police in Glasgow are hunting mindless thugs who went on a vandalism spree at a primary school in the north east of the city.

Officers have launched an appeal for information after the incidents at St Catherine's Primary on Rye Road in the Barmulloch area in the past few days.

Images shared by Glasgow North East Police show four smashed in classroom windows on the first floor of the school, alongside a large section of guttering which has been ripped free and which now lays smashed to pieces in the playground.

Footprints can also be seen on the walls of an annexe building below the windows suggesting that the vandals were attempting to cause further damage to the school building.

Glasgow North East police tweeted: "Officers are appealing for information after a number of vandalisms at St Catherine's Primary, Rye Road in the last few days.

"Please call 101 with info or alternatively you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 and remain anonymous."

Unfortunately it isn't the first occasion that St Catherine's has been targeted, with fire thugs starting a blaze in a bin on the grounds of the school, which then reached the building and scorched the walls during a weekend attack back in January this year.
