Glasgow police hunting gang of youths who seriously assaulted man in city centre

Police are hunting a group of youths who attacked a man in Glasgow's city centre.

The 38-year-old victim became involved in an altercation with the group after leaving a bar in the King Street area around 11pm on Sunday, April 17.

A fight broke out and the man was assaulted and left with serious head injuries. He was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment.

Police are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward to help catch those responsible.

Detective Constable Larissa Cooper said: “This incident took place in a busy part of the city, so we believe there will be a number of pedestrians and motorists who will have seen the attack.

“We are asking for anyone with information or potential dashcam footage to please come forward.

“If you have any information could assist our enquiries, so please call 101, quoting incident 2818 of 6 May.

“Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, if you wish to remain anonymous.”
