Glasgow police: Human remains found at the site of fire in Pollok’s Househill Park

Human remains have been found at the site of a fire in Pollok's Househill Park.

Police were called to a report of the blaze in the park near Hartstone Road where the grim discovery was made at around 7:35am this morning.

The death is being treated as unexplained and extensive enquiries are ongoing, Police Scotland have confirmed.

Officers, supported by specialist forensic teams, are still at the scene which is cordoned off and is likely to remain so "for some time."

A force spokesperson said: “We were called around 7.35am on Wednesday, August 4, to a report of a fire in Househill Park near Hartstone Road, Glasgow.

"Additional officers are on patrol in the area and anyone with concerns can speak to them."

Police have cordoned off two entry points to the park off Hartstone Road, as well as the road, with officers standing guard at the perimeter of the park.
