Police have since launched an inquiry into the attack and are working on addressing the concerns around anti-social behaviour in Glasgow parks.

They asked parents and guardians to know where their children are 'out and about'.

Inspector Michelle Grant, of Giffnock Police office, said: “About 7.30pm on Saturday August 14, several calls were made to police reporting large group of youths around 40 in number within Rouken Glen Park, engaged in anti-social behaviour with one young male having been assaulted.

“Police arrived and a 15-year-old boy was taken to hospital as a precaution and for treatment of a minor injury.

“We continue to address concerns of anti-social behaviour within our parks and open spaces.

“I would urge people to continue to know where their children are when out and about in order to help keep them safe.

“We also continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the assault and ask anyone with any information to please contact Police Scotland, quoting incident number 3515 of August 14, 2021.”
