Glasgow police forced to cordon off road as car overturns after striking parked cars

Police were forced to temporarily cordon off a busy road in the west of Glasgow after a car struck a row of parked vehicles and ended up on its side.

The crash happened on Dorchester Avenue in the Kelvindale area near to Cleveden Road around 10:45am yesterday (August 27).

Police attended along with the emergency services after the alarm was raised.

An image shared online by community Facebook page No1seems2care shows the police cordon in place and officers standing next to the vehicle lying on its side next to some parked cars.

The male driver was assessed by paramedics at the scene and recovery was arranged for his vehicle.

The road then reopened to traffic.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were made aware of a crash involving a single car which struck parked vehicles on Dorchester Avenue in Glasgow around 10.45am on Friday, 27 August.

"One man was assessed by the ambulance service at the scene and recovery was arranged for the car."
