Glasgow police: Fire forensic experts arrive on scene amid reports of 'body found' in park

Forensic crews have descended on a park in Pollok amid reports that a body has been found.

Two officers in protective clothing from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service Fire Investigation Unit were spotted entering a cordoned off area of Househill Park next to Hartstone Road around 10:30am this morning.

Local reports have suggested that a body was found this morning in the vicinity of a bridge over the Levern Water within the park, a short distance from Hartstone Road.

Police have cordoned off two entry points to the park off Hartstone Road, as well as the road, with officers standing guard at the perimeter of the park and at least five vehicles parked up on nearby Haughburn Road.

Meanwhile, joining them in attendance were plain-clothes officers and members from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

A large police presence remains at the scene as enquiries into the incident remain ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 7.35am on Wednesday, August 4, to a report of a fire in Househill Park near Hartstone Road, Glasgow. Emergency services are at the scene.”

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were called to assist partners at 7.39am on Wednesday, August 4 at Hartstone Road, Glasgow.

“Crews currently remain at the scene.”
