Glasgow police: Emergency services at scene amid reports of 'body found' in park

A major police incident is ongoing in Glasgow's south side.

Detectives have cordoned off part of a park and residential street in Pollok following a fire.

Police officers and fire crews are currently on the scene at Househill Park and Hartstone Road following the incident at 7.35am on Wednesday morning.

Local reports have suggested that a body was found.

Detectives, forensics, and fire crews remain on the scene with specialist Scottish Fire and Rescue fire investigation officers also being drafted in to assist.

Six police vehicles and both uniformed and CID officers are also carrying out enquiries in the Pollok area.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 7.35am on Wednesday, 4 August, to a report of a fire in Househill Park near Hartstone Road, Glasgow. Emergency services are at the scene.”

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were called to assist partners at 7.39am on Wednesday, August 4 at Hartstone Road, Glasgow.

“Crews currently remain at the scene.”
