Glasgow police descend on shopping centre amid reports of 'stabbing'

Police have descended on a shopping centre in North Glasgow amid local reports that someone has been stabbed.

Officers were called to Springburn Way next to Springburn Shopping Centre at 12:35pm this afternoon following a report that a man had been assaulted.

They remain at the scene at present.

A photo taken at the scene and shared on the Facebook page of local community group No1seems2care shows police outside the entrance to the shopping centre alongside ambulance crews.

There is as yet no confirmation as to the extent of the injuries the man has received.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 12.35pm on Wednesday, 10 November, officers were called to a report of a man assaulted on Springburn Way, Glasgow. Officers are at the scene."
