Glasgow police confirm body found in search for missing Anthony McCurry

The body of a man has been found by officers in the Riddrie area of the city on Tuesday evening.

Although formal identification is to take place, the family of Anthony McCurry have been made aware of police findings.

Anthony, 33, was reported missing on Thursday, 5 August, and since then extensive enquiries have been conducted to trace his current whereabouts.

Officers were called to the scene at Almond Street on Tuesday AUgust 17 at 8.25pm.

The death is being treated as unexplained and police say their enquiries into circumstances will continue.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: "Police Scotland attended at Almond Street in Glasgow at 8.25pm on Tuesday, 17 August, 2021 after the body of a man was discovered.

"The family of 33-year-old missing man Anthony McCurry have been made aware.

"Formal identification is yet to take place. The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing."
