Glasgow bomb threat: Police remain at scene after 'suspicious package' report in Dennistoun

Police remain in attendance in Dennistoun following the report of a suspicious package being found within a premises on Milnbank Street earlier this afternoon.

Officers were called to the scene alongside EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) around 3.30pm after the alarm was raised.

The report prompted the closure of the M8 motorway between junction 14 and junction 15 as well as Alexandra Parade, with reports suggesting that shops and locals living nearby were evacuated.

The M8 was subsequently reopened to traffic around 6:15pm.

A police cordon remains in place, with Alexandra Parade still shut off to traffic.

Police Scotland have also thanked members of the public for their patience.
