'Glasgow Piggyback Tours' offering up alternative way to take in best city sights

Glaswegians are being offered a chance to take a pretty unique tour of the city - after bizarre adverts appeared on lampposts advertising 'Glasgow Piggyback Tours'.

The cheap alternative to the open top Sightseeing Glasgow bus that you see tourists piling onto at George Square allows people to 'hop on and hop off at your leisure' and is both 'greener and faster than the bus' according to the hilarious ads.

Meanwhile the tours also see 'friendly, clean carriers come to you' - meaning you don't have to rock up to a designated city centre spot to await your co-carry buddy.

A bemused member of the public spotted one of the ads for the tours - complete with a photo of a girl receiving a piggyback outside the GoMA - on a lamppost on Great George Street across from Ashton Lane in the west end.

She took to Twitter to share a pic of it along with the caption: "An interesting alternative to the bus, available in Glasgow according to this ad!".

We wonder how many folk would be up for giving this a go.

Speaking of piggybacks, we counted and found that Glasgow, incredibly, has 14 different words for the word. Although we'd like to think most people use the term 'co-carry'.
