Glasgow pensioner vanishes in Edinburgh

Police have issued an urgent appeal to trace a missing Glasgow man believed to be in Edinburgh.

James Gibson, from the Gallowgate area, was last seen in Couper Street in the capital at around 2pm yesterday (September 14).

His currents whereabouts is unknown and his friends and family are becoming increasingly concerned for him.

The 66-year-old is described as being 5’11, wearing a hat, dark jacket, blue trousers, blue jumper and black trainers.

He has grey hair with a beard.

Inspector Peter Jones from Leith Police said: "James has been missing for a number of hours now, this is completely out of character for him and his friends are understandably worried about it.

"We have a number of police resources out looking for James and I am now looking for the assistance from the public. "
