Woodlands Community Development Trust have paid tribute to their "dear friend" and "key volunteer" Esther Brown after she was found dead at her Glasgow home this week.
Esther's body was found around 4pm on Tuesday at her flat on West Princes Street after she was last seen around 5.30pm on Friday.
A 30-year-old man has since been arrested in connection with her death.
The trust said they were "devastated" by the loss and described Esther as "exceptionally kind, compassionate and caring".
The 67-year-old was said to have touched the lives of many during her tireless voluntary work in the community.
She was also a founding member of the trust's community garden and served on the board of trustees, as well as helping with the community cafe.
A statement from Woodlands Community Development Trust said: "We are devastated by the death of our dear friend Esther who has been a key volunteer in our organisation since 2010.
"Esther was a founding member of our community garden and her generous spirit was central to making the community garden a welcoming and inclusive place. For many years she also helped to run our community café and served on our board of charity trustees.
"Esther was an exceptionally kind, compassionate and caring individual who dedicated her life to helping others. Through her voluntary work she touched the lives and hearts of countless people and we will miss her terribly.
"Although in the immediate aftermath of Esther’s death we have had to cancel some events, we will find a way to bring people back together and help our community heal."
The community garden on West Princes Street, just minutes from Esther's home, is currently open for remembrance.
