Glasgow has been named in the top five vegan-friendly cities in the UK for 2022 in a new poll.
The study was conducted by student network Student Beans for vegan veterans and newbies to uncover the best cities in the UK for meat-free munching to coincide with Veganuary.
Having one of the highest numbers of health and supplement shops (25) saw Glasgow secure fourth place in the rankings behind Nottingham, Chester and Edinburgh.

Despite the study concluding that Glasgow has a reasonably high percentage of vegan friendly restaurants (26.98%), it wasn't high enough to qualify for the top three, as over 30% of Nottingham, Edinburgh, and Chester's restaurants are vegan-friendly.
To rank the top 20 vegan cities in the UK, Student Beans analysed data from a number of factors including the number of restaurants serving vegan food, percentage of restaurants in the city that are vegan, number of vegan Uber Eats and the number of health food stores in each city within a five-mile radius.
The news comes weeks after the city said hello to a new vegan and natural wine bar with the opening of 'Wino' on Dumbarton Road in Partick.
