Glasgow office helps law firm boost profits by 76%

Full service law firm Irwin Mitchell has announced an increase in profits of 76% in the last year.

The group, which has a Glasgow office, reported turnover was up 9% to £263 million with profit up from £12 million to £21 million for the 2018-19 financial year.

Chief executive Andrew Tucker said the results came after a year in which Irwin Mitchell was independently recognised as a Superbrand for the first time.

He said: “We have successfully grown turnover for nine consecutive years and that is testament to the hard work and determination of all of our teams to deliver an excellent client service whether that is for businesses or individuals.

“We offer a wide, but complimentary, range of legal and financial services  and our client  engagement is strong: they tell us our service is consistently good and distinctive.

"We have an extensive programme to enable us to really understand what our clients value which helps us deliver our services more effectively.”

Irwin Mitchell has a headcount of more than 400 staff across 15 UK offices. This year the firm has promoted eight new partners with 90 associate and senior associate promotions.
