Glasgow nursery vandalised by 'lowest of the low' thugs leaving kids 'heartbroken'

A Glasgow nursery has had its garden vandalised by vile thugs who have been branded the "lowest of the low".

St Paul's Nursery in Shettleston took to Twitter to blast the vandals who trashed the garden on August 30.

They asked for any members of the local community who see anyone in the school acting suspicious to phone the police.

They wrote: "Sorry to share this but our nursery garden was vandalised at the weekend kids and staff are [heart-broken emoji] if you see anyone entering our school please phone the police."

Pictures of the incident show the outdoor garden trashed, with furniture upended and sand strewn around the slides.

It is thought the vandals climbed over the fences to get in.

The children's toys are strewn around and many broken, with the climbing frame curtain ripped down and various toys taken completely apart.

Councillor Chris Cunningham, City Convener for Education, Skills and early Years said: “Vandalism is despicable behaviour and to target schools is the lowest of the low.

"Please report any anti-social behaviour to the police so that the culprits do not get away with it.”

Police Scotland said they were not aware of any incident being reported but the nursery said they had been engaging with their community police officers.
