The home of the owner of one of Glasgow's most popular nightclubs has been targeted in a firebombing.
Fire crews were called to Chris Lessani's home in Knightswood around 1am on Friday, August 6.
A car was set alight in The Sanctuary nightclub owner's garage at the front of the property before the fire spread to the house, where it's believed Lessani was sleeping inside at the time.
Firefighters battled the flames before they spread throughout the back of the property, but the garage and room above were destroyed by the blaze, the Daily Record reports.
Property from the house lay fire damaged in the front garden, which has been guarded by a fence.
Chris Lessani confirmed to the Record that he and his family were uninjured as a result of the blaze at his property, but he would not comment any further.
Officers confirmed they are probing the incident and they are appealing for information.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Enquiries are ongoing into a fire-raising incident in Glasgow which happened in the early hours of Friday, 6 August.
“A vehicle was set alight and the fire then spread to the nearby property.
“The fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and nobody was injured.
“Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information can call 101, quoting incident 0224 of August 6.”
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson confirmed they received the call at around 1.03am on Friday, August 6.
The spokesperson added: "We mobilised two appliances and informed a senior officer about the fire.
"We left the scene after the fire was extinguished at around 4.45am."
