Glasgow murder: Young family of 'really good man' stabbed to death in Easterhouse 'destroyed'

A fundraiser has been set up to help the bereaved family of a man killed yards from his home in Easterhouse.

Kamil Charyszyn was fatally stabbed on Sunday night after being confronted by a group on Conisborough Road.

The 35-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics and a hunt was launched for the group, including one man who chased and attacked the victim with a 'large bladed weapon'.

A fundraising page has now been set up to help Kamil's partner Agnieszka and their two children, with £6,000 donated in less than 24 hours.

Organiser Charlene Reynolds has said the family have been left "destroyed" by the senseless murder, adding: "Let’s come together to help them through this horrible time."

Kamil has been described as "a really good man" and "cheerful" by those who knew him.

Glasgow lawyer Aamer Anwar was among those who shared the fundraiser, adding: "Fundraiser to support the young family of murdered Celtic fan Kamil Charyszyn his partner Agnieszka along with their two kids, left destroyed after his brutal murder on Sunday. I hope all decent people come together to help them through this horrific time."

Well-wishers have taken to the fundraising page to share their condolences for the family, one writing: "RIP Kamil my heart goes out to your beautiful family".

Another added: "So sad and angry this happened, so happy to help the family in this terrible time."

Investigations into the murder are continuing, with officers urging anyone in the local community who has information on the incident to come forward.

Detective Chief Inspector Alan McAlpine, Major Investigation Team appealed to the community for help in piecing together the events leading up to Kamil's death.

He said: "We are working to establish the exact circumstances of what has happened and why.

"A young man has lost his life and we need to trace whoever is responsible.

"I am sure members of the local community will have information around this incident and I would urge them to pass it on.

"The victim's family deserves to know what happened to their loved one. If anyone has any information, please contact us.

"There will be an increase in officers patrolling the area to provide reassurance to members of the community. Anyone with concerns can approach these officers.

"Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 4803 of Sunday, 21 March, 2021. Alternatively, please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where you can give your information anonymously."
