Glasgow mum left disgusted after finding knife, drugs and condoms in children's play park

A Glasgow mum has been been left horrified after a knife, drugs and condoms were found in a children's play park.

Christine, from Dennistoun, has hit out at the unsafe discoveries found at Glasgow Green when she took her child to the park.

Images found by the family include a knife with a red handle, toxic de-icer, a herb grinder, lighter and stubbed out cannabis buts at the scene as well as a condom at the children's recreational area, the Daily Record reports.

Christine reported the mess to the council before taking to social media to warn other parents to avoid the area.

She said: "If anyone is planning to head to Glasgow Green this morning the children’s play park is full of drug paraphernalia, a knife, lighters etc.

"It’s disgusting and unsafe. I’ve reported to the council but I’d give it a pass today."

A spokesperson for Glasgow City Council confirmed the items had been removed from the park and slammed those responsible.

They said: “This is very disappointing behaviour from whoever left these items behind.

“It doesn’t take a genius to work out that leaving items of this nature in a children’s play park is going to cause upset.

“No matter the situation people have a basic responsibility to put their rubbish in a bin.

“We regularly monitor the play parks at the Green and all of these items were cleared away over the weekend.”
