Glasgow mum 'hit with plank of wood' in alleged race hate attack in Ibrox

Police are investigating claims a woman was hit with a plank of wood by a gang who hurled racist abuse.

They responded to reports she was set upon near Ibrox Subway station at 1.30pm on Monday.

Another woman, claiming to be the victim's daughter, posted on social media that a group of teenagers cornered her 50-year-old mother while "shouting Islamophobic and classist slurs" on January 10.

She claimed they "pushed her around" and "hit her on the front of her head/face with a plank and wood" and "left her injured".
