A Glasgow man has come up with the absolute ideal solution to the ongoing closure of pubs in the city and wider area as part of new rules implemented to suppress the rise in coronavirus cases.
Gordon Watson, from Clarkston, has transformed his garden shed into The Shanker's Arms - a golf-themed sports bar, for him to saunter down to when he fancies heading out for a wee shandy or two.
The project took him around four weeks to complete, with Gordon saying he was motivated to build the bar to keep him busy (and sane) while he couldn't play golf.
And after building a wooden bar in the shed, he decided to source additional touches and decor to transform it into the golf-themed sports bar after being inspired by some of the feats he saw on Facebook page Garden Shed Pubs and Nightclubs UK.
About the project, Gordon wrote: "The project started around a month ago, to keep me busy (and sane) at the weekends while I couldn't golf.
"It began with a simple notion to try and build a wooden bar, while reclaiming some space in the shed (which has become a dumping ground for the broken kids toys).
"I hadn't done anything like this for a long time and it felt great to design, saw, screw, nail and glue and sand this thing into existence. The bar itself really only took a couple of weeks."
Gordon has even put electricity and WIFI into the bar, leaving him with little else to do but wallow in his impressive achievements and enjoy life in the bar he built with his own hands at the bottom of his garden.
To say we are jealous is an understatement!
