Glasgow man's Katsu curry goes viral after it's served to him on a shovel

We are all here for Glasgow restaurants doing things differently.

Innovative food? Yes. Creative thinking? Yes. Serving your dinner to you on a shovel? Er...

Well, that's exactly what happened to Glasgow DJ Ciar McKinley when he hit the town for a bit of dinner.

Heading into the city centre for a wee spot of katsu curry, Ciar was served his dinner on the garden tool and his jaw almost hit the floor.

He uploaded a pic of his dinner to Twitter writing: "Should be a disclaimer on the menu telling you what your food will be served on so I coulda avoided eating my dinner aff a f****n’ shovel tonight".

The tweet has since gone viral, getting hundreds of likes.

While Ciar has had a good laugh about it, he doesn't want to name and shame the restaurant which served him his shovelled Katsu curry.

"It was actually a decent curry" he said.

He has, however, been sent a picture of a steak pie being served in a jar, which he shared with Glasgow Live - it might have originated in Dundee but it's certainly making us feel things back in Glasgow.

We were under the impression that it was in vogue to serve your dinner on a tiled slate, but it would appear now that the trend has moved on!

What's the latest you've been served your dinner on?
