Glasgow man rushed to hospital with "nasty" head injury after unprovoked assault

A man sustained a 'nasty' head injury after he was attacked in Glasgow .

The 45-year-old was rushed to hospital after the unprovoked assault on Summertown Road, Govan, between 6-7pm on Wednesday, November 13.

Police Scotland are seeking to speak to two men who were seen in the area at the time of the incident.

Both men are aged between 18-23 with local accents.

The first of the men was wearing a Burgundy top with light coloured trousers. The second was of heavy build and wearing a light blue top.

Detective Constable Paul Hendry, of Govan CID, said: “I am appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed this incident.

“This was a totally unprovoked attack on a member of the public who has since received medical treatment to a nasty head injury.

“I would ask anyone who has saw any suspicious behaviour in the Summertown Road area of Govan on the night of Wednesday, November 13, or who knows who is responsible, to contact police as soon as possible.”

A spokesperson for Police Scotland added: “Anyone with information is asked to contact Govan CID via 101, quoting incident number 3511 of November 13 Alternatively an anonymous report can be made to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
