Driver blocks hospital disabled parking forcing Glasgow man to lift wife out of wheelchair

A 'selfish' Glasgow driver has been slammed for blocking access to the disabled parking area of the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

The owner of the silver Mercedes Benz parked right across the entry point to the parking area and right in front of another vehicle, meaning people were unable to gain access to the hospital or return to their vehicles yesterday.

One member of the public, who wishes to remain anonymous, was visiting the hospital when she noticed the badly-parked car, and says she had to assist a man who required to lift his wife out her wheelchair to enable them to get by.

"I called the hospital and the guy at the call centre said he was trying to call the number they had for car-parking but it was a mobile no and was the wrong number.

"I then told the info desk when I went inside and showed the pictures but two hours later it was still there."
