Glasgow M8 crash sees driver hospitalised after car flips onto roof

A driver has been rushed to hospital after a two-car crash in Glasgow this afternoon which saw one vehicle end up flipped onto its roof.

The incident happened on the M8 Westbound near Junction 16 (Dobbie's Loan Interchange) around 1:05pm.

Police and emergency services raced to the scene alongside members of Amey's Trunk Road Incident Support Service ( TRISS ) to assist in response to the incident.

Police have confirmed that one driver was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary as a precaution.

The crash saw two lanes of the motorway closed off to drivers, with Traffic Scotland reporting slow traffic back from J13 adding to the delays from the emergency work. The road is now open.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "We received a report of a two-car crash on the M8 near junction 16 around 1.05pm on Saturday, 13 March. One driver was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary as a precaution. The road is now open.
