Glasgow M8 crash 'involving several vehicles' near Ibrox as emergency services called to the scene

Motorists were facing lengthy delays after a multi-vehicle crash on the Glasgow M8 near Ibrox.

Emergency services were called to the scene on the westbound carriageway between Junction 24 and 25 at around 5.30pm on Sunday, November 7.

One lane was blocked while police dealt with the incident. The area had been busy with traffic leaving the Rangers v Ross County match in Govan this afternoon, and delays were expected on the route.

Police have confirmed that a number of vehicles are involved in the accident however there are not believed to be any injuries.

Traffic Scotland has said that traffic was “very heavy” in the surrounding areas as a result.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.30 pm on Sunday, 7 November 2021, police received a report of a road crash involving several vehicles on the M8 westbound near to the Clyde Tunnel.

“There are no reports of anyone injured.”
