Glasgow Lives in Lockdown: Iggy, Pup, west end, 12 weeks

I’m Iggy Pup, but you can call me Iggy.

The big man I live with calls me Iggy, Ig, Ignatius, the Ig Man or Igmeister and he’s got all sorts of other names for me if I pee on the carpet.

I call him the big man, but he’s really not that big, I’m just wee, but I’m growing!

I go to school on Tuesday and Thursday mornings with my teacher Helena. She’s got me sitting and staying then running up to her, then sitting and staying again and running up to her again. The good thing is I get a treat every time I do it right, which is great, because it’s an absolute doddle.

I’m pretty good at chewing stuff as well. If you need anything chewed then send it over. I’ll chew anything.

I was 12 weeks old last Thursday and last week the big man took me out beyond the gate for the first time.

He warned me about social distancing, but no one seemed bothered about that when they saw me. I got a clap from everyone I met.

I was born just outside Edinburgh where they told me I was a dog, but now I’m in Glasgow the big man says I’m a dug.

Fair enough, he feeds me my dinner, so whatever he says is fine by me.

He says that when I’m older he’s going to take me up mountains and out on boats and away on trips to Scottish islands. Sounds great, as long as he brings my dinner.

But while I’m just a youngster, he says we’ll be hanging around the parks in Glasgow, so come and say hello if you see me around.
